Deborah now resides in Winchester Texas with her husband, Ryan and daughter, Quinn.
Deborah is committed to the idea that every child can learn music. It is her greatest hope that every child in her studio will experience personal growth at his or her own pace in a positive learning environment.
Deborah Matthews received her Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied cello with Professor Bion Tsang. During her time at the University, Deborah taught for the University of Texas String Project. While serving as Cadet Coordinator and Early Childhood Coordinator for the UT String Project, Deborah recognized her love for young students and her desire to see them succeed.
Deborah is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She completed Every Child Can training with Laurie Scott, Suzuki cello training for levels 1-2 with Alice Ann O'Neill and Suzuki cello training for level 3 with Richard Mooney. She completed a Group Class Workshop with Suzuki trainer, Carey Beth Hockett. Deborah has been trained in Kodaly level one with Philip Tacka and Micheal Houlahan. She is currently working towards Dalcroze certification with Jeremy Dittus.
Before attending the University, Deborah and her sisters performed as a vocal group and traveled Texas. The Seale Sisters recorded three CDs and won multiple awards for thier tight harmonies and family blend. The Seale family also ran a Christian camp where Deborah and her sisters were given the opportunity to program camps, implement ideas and lead young campers and staff.
